Picnic goodies on St. John
 

We're looking forward to a few picnics on the beach on St. John and I was wondering where there's a nice market for yummy sandwiches and other treats to pack up and take with us. A place to buy some wine would be great too :-)

There's a good deli/market at Mongoose Junction. The name escapes me at the moment, but I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you.

One choice would be Baked in the Sun in Marina Marketplace ( sp?) above Starfish Market.

Also, there is The Simple Feast just a bit past the Starfish Market on the right habd side. They can pack up a picnic lunch for you - just call a day in advance.

The place that Doug mentioned does have great sandwiches and I believe the name is Deli Grotto.

I second the "Simple Feast" suggestion. Just tried it myself this past January. It is located in a small "strip mall" on the righthand side on the road from Cruz Bay to the Westin. It also boasts a good selection of wines, prepared foods and snacks. Starfish Market itself also offers quite a selection of things as well.
