Perfect Vacation

My wife and I are going to Grand Cayman for the first time in May. What should we do and where should we dine out for the perfect vacation. We are staying at Lacovia, which has a nice beach and close to town. Recent shoulder surgery prohibits scuba diving. Thanks in advance.

Definitely go to Rum Point for the day. It's a great place and you can hang out, eat drink, snorkel (if you are able) and even rent floats for $5. We really enjoyed it. There's a ferry that takes you there from either the Hyatt or Treasure Island. (if you're not renting a car)

Also, you'll want to go to StingRay City.

My 2 favorite restaurants were Reef Grille and Pappagalos.

You'll love Grand Cayman. Enjoy.

In addition to Pappagallos and the Reef Grill, we loved the Calypso Grill-food was excellent and it has indoor or on the water seating. We had lobster in champagne sauce and shrimp provinciale and both were fantastic! Smuggler's Cove was also good. For inexpensive, try Chicken,Chicken or Eats Cafe. Check out www.caymanrestaurants.com for a complete list and individual sites where you can view menus of various places.
Have not stayed at Lacovia, but was at the Hyatt (2 doors down) and Lacovia looked very nice. They have an excellent beach. Have a great time!

Defintely rent a car and tour the island (Rum Point, Smith's Cove etc). And just drive down little roads to find nice secluded spots. There is a cool little spot in Cayman Kai to see starfish. Anyone on Rum Point can direct you to it.

Also, a trip to Stingray Sandbar is a must...you will only stand in 3 feet of water so no swimming required. The experience is amazing.

As for restaurants, The Reef Grill and Smuggler's Cove are not to be missed. Also, a couple casual fun places are Coconut Joe's and The Tree House.

Have a great trip!!!
