Passport for toddler T&C?

Will I be able to travel to T&C without a passport for my toddler? We have an original birth certificate but no phot id. Would that be sufficient?

In these days of heightened security and all, please play it safe and get a passport for the toddler. You don't want to run the risk of not being able to prove the child is yours to get back into the US, or even to leave the US for that matter... Hope this helps!

I would get one, I am traveling with my infant in May and I am getting one. By Dec. you have to have one when traveling in the Caribbean or Bahamas.

We travelled to T&C with our 19 month old March 6-13 with only the original birth certificate with a raised seal. It was no issue at all...either in the US or Provo.

Pre 911, I would not even consider getting a passport for a toddler, but now, I would definately get one. Also I would call the airlines and make sure that they have your child's name listed as a non-passenger (if the child is under 2 years of age). Many places in the Caribbean only require an original passport with a raised seal but for me, I think the passport is still the way to travel.

Again - it depends when you are going. If its after Dec. you need one for sure. However, since in the next 5 years you might travel again, you mine as well do it now...

Get the kiddo a passport, its far easier transiting and puts your mind at ease too....not that expensive!

Absolutely get the kid a passport. Being separated from your kid for 1 second while trying to prove he/she is yours is not worth it! The passport links you together, and it's easier to keep up with.
