Paradise, Paradise?
Does anyone know what was the fate of Paradise, Paradise on Paradise Island? It was a small 2 storey hotel with a pathway to Atlantis. Did Atlantis eat it up or is it still there?

Paradise, Paradise was eaten up by Atlantis. It is still used by Atlantis staff and has not yet been incorporated into the Atlantis Property.<BR>Atlantis has another 1000 rooms plus a ton of other pools, aquariums and from what I understand, an underwater casino planned for the next phase. God help us. You'll need a monorail to get around at that point.

July 1970. Took ferry over to "Hog Island" from Nassau, as there was no bridge yet connecting the two. Nothing but a few hotels and miles of undisturbed beaches, mostly vacant. Coconut Palm forests with palmetto palm, seagrape and caribbean pines covered Hog Island, with talcum-covered sand paths throughout. A few cars here and there, no cement roads or parking lots, and mostly populated by local Bahamians joking around with the tourists. Went snorkeling and caught spiny lobster, which we boiled on the beach that night. Actually, "Hog Island" is the ruined island now called Paradise Island...no more paradise. Might as well visit Disneyland in Orlando. Robert

I think Four Seasons beat you to it. They've taken over the primary bonefishing reefs in Exuma. What's next? Capitalism at it's best, eh?

Great idea! Abaco still has nice Caribbean Pine Forests. So, when the land developers get through with Exuma, they can run to Abaco and build amongst the trees, and they catch on fire, we can call in the lumber industries to cut the forests down. Then, they can pay off the Parliamenet member to reduce the human sewage requirments pouring into the gin-colored, turquoise waters off Exuma's Elizabeth Harbor. So, yes, we can eventually have urban sprawl on Exuma too. Hey, better yet! I have some tickets to sell to see the last Bald Eagle shot over Wyoming. Robert
