Paradise Island Construction

Heading to PI May 31 to June 4. From all my reading I understand there is a lot of construction, especially at Atlantis. We are staying at Comfort Suites and I also read there was/is some construction going on nearby there as well.

Can someone who has been there recently, update me on the situation. Will this construction be intrusive on the vacation?

TIA

KarenL; you're correct about the construction. On the harbor side, they're building a large area of restaurants, shops, etc. The area is blocked off, and the deadline for completion is August. But, the "Bahama Way" = late September or later. Comfort Suites is on the harbor side of Atlantis, so you will encounter the construction, which will be across Casino Blvd. For those thinking of booking into Atlantis, try a room on the ocean side, and avoid the harbor side. If the construction noise isn't bad, the view will be. KarenL, since you will be across the street, and CI is by itself with nice palms and vegetation to hide the construction, you may not even be aware of it. Robert

I was hoping that one of you wonderful Nassau/PI experts would see this and answer.

Thanks Robert both for your answer and you answers to other posters ???RE:Nassau/PI. I've used lots of the information in my planning.

Thanks, KarenL; we've stayed at CI as a base to scuba dive and do reef surveys off New Providence. There has been much construction around Atlantis when we were there, but CI is self-contained, perched atop a hill and surrounded by palm trees. We heard nothing and so nothing of the work. There swim-up bar in the pool is great. Robert

Yeah we decided to stay at CI so that we had a place to escape too if we needed to get away from the crowds. Now I'm glad we did this based on all the construction also. Thanks again for your input.
