palm shaded beach

I would appreciate someone recommending a vacation destination for me. Want a beachfront hotel on a Caribbean island (with casinos) that offers a shaded (preferably by palms) beach. Love to spend the whole day on the beach but can't take the direct sun.
Any suggestions for nice shady beaches? Any island would be okay.

Palm Beach on Aruba meets your beach requirements, and is very close to a couple of casinos.
Marcia, the Bucanneer on St. Croix has 2 lovely, palm shaded beaches, one has a great grill type restaurant for lunch. The casino in Christiansted is new since I was last there, so can't comment more than to say it's there.

You might also look at Puerto Rico. I haven't been, but I bet you could find the perfect place. Puerto Rico is BIG on nightlife. St. Croix is pretty laid back & quiet.

Bucc has no casino. Only casino in the USVI is the Divi on St. Croix.
Karen, please reread my post. I didn't say the casino was at the Bucaneer. I clearly stated it was in Christiansted. Marcia didn't specify a casino on hotel grounds.

:-)

Actually, the casino is on the east end of St. Croix, east of the Buccaneer - not in Christiansted.

I agree that Aruba has a good combination of casinos, beaches, and palm trees - although it is a rather barren and Americanized island.
The Sandy Beach Island Resort on the south coast of Barbados has a beach shaded by palm trees. Very pretty beach with calm sheltered crystal clear water. Active without being crowded and has a great beach front restaurant and bar. No casinos, but excellent nightlife and plenty of sites to see!
Chazz, thanks for the locatin of the casino. I thought I'd read it was on or near the waterfront at C'sted. Actually, I'm glad it's not cause C'sted is a great for shops & eats & crowded enough as it is.
