Palm Island Dinner Attire
What is the dinner attire at Palm Island? Are nice resort-type shirts and pants/dockers sufficient for both men and women or should I bring a dress and my husband a more formal shirt and slacks as well? What type of shoes to wear for dinner? We are trying to pack light. Thanks for any advice you can give on these questions and any other packing advice.

Slacks and shirts for men are the norm. For ladies, sundresses. I did see nice linen slacks as well, too, so that works just fine. I would definitely avoid flip flops in any form -- unless they have heels --and avoid tennis shoes, too.

My sister and I went to Palm Island last December. Are you ever in for a treat! If Jeff (the maitre d') or Tafari (bartender) are still there please, please tell them that the American sisters, Pam & Nancy, said they send their love. (Also Ansel, the cook who will be in charge of the beach barbecue!) Most people were dressed in a "dressy/casual" mode for dinner. A simple sundress for the woman would be fine, though I myself wore nice cargo pants and nice top each evening with jewelry. Men can wear khakis and polo shirts. I wore sandals at all times (Reef sandals)...I don't know that I was the typical clientele for the island but they didn't throw me off! Lunch and breakfast you can get away with bathing suit with cover-up or shorts & top. It gets VERY WARM very quickly so plan on eating breakfast early (there are these incredibly adorable little birds who sit on the edge of tables and sing to you as you eat your breakfast). I envy you...have a WONDERFUL vacation!

Betty,
We are going to Palm Island in February and would love a trip report when you return. Would be interested in hearing what you do during the day, the food, etc. Thank you in advance! Hope you have a great time!

EJ,
Yes, Palm Island it is. Our original plans were to try Mexico, but once again, we ended up back at the drawing board this fall.
We will start off back in Barbados for a couple of days - can't resist that food - and then go on to Palm Island for a week. We are planning a snorkeling trip to the Tobago cays while on PI. We're looking forward to it!
