Overwhelmed

I am planning a March vacation.
Activities - SUN, paddle-boarding, spa, FOOD, fire pits and cocktails by night, waterfalls and rainforest hikes by day sounds perfect. Prefer adults only, I think I want an all inclusive but would consider other options. I would like 4 or 5 star accommodations. I want an amazing sunset view!!!

Budget 6 - 8 grand

Problem...... Where to go....sigh HELP

Gansevoort in Turks and Caicos has what you want except waterfalls and rainforrest

So you know--the islands with rainforrest and waterfalls attrack more rain (less sun) and have okay beaches

So which is more important?

I just want to be able to have some nature / hiking adventure..... I will sacrifice waterfalls.

Most important I just want adult interactions if desired as well. Hopefully a place not inundated with Spring Breakers and under 30 craziness.

Jamaica has been highly recommended to me and St Lucias looks nice. Love great food, sea food to be more precise.

March is a big month for spring breakers both in Jamaica and many other islands. Although I love Negril, it will be overwhelmed with kids partying and also lots of "under 30 craziness" in March.

You could look at Treasure Beach, which tends to be more remote and quieter, but I don't have any personal recommendations.

Are you willing to look at Mexico? We have stayed many times at LIVE AQUA, which is adults-only, and definitely a 4 or 5 star property. It has gorgeous rooms ( Aqua Suite), very good food and is on a quieter section of Cancun's beach. There's something like five pools, excellent spa, fire pit, and excursions to pyramids, cenotes, snorkel sites can all be easily arranged.

Just a thought....!

Just a thought....

Good luck!

Sorry, should have previewed this...

Well, I have personally narrowed it down to St Lucias, ( Not sure North or South ) and Or Negril, Jamaica.

At this point I am thinking a Sandals all inclusive. anyones thoughts or recommendations are always appreciated. Looks like I can do the same type of fun things in both locations.

I love Negril! But it's a bit rustic overall for someone seeking "spas" and "5-stars".

What places are you considering there? Have you looked at Tensing Pen or Moondance Villas on the Cliffs? To avoid the spring breakers I think the more exclusive places on the Cliffs could possibly work.

I agree with Suze. I love Negril, too, but no way Sandal's is going to live up to four or five stars. In fact, I can't think of any AIS in Negril that would be worth the $$$.

The only 5-star property I can think of the area is THE CAVES, which is on The West End, aka "The cliffs". It would be a hike to the beach or a 15 minute cab ride.

Some other properties to look at: IDLE AWHILE and CHARELA INN, both on the beach, or TENSING PEN, ROCKHOUSE, and MOON DANCE VILLAS, all on the cliffs.

All of these are small properties, but with some very nice amenities and service.

Good luck!

Check out the Rock House in Negril - however, I think one of the Couples resorts in Ocho Rios or Port Antonio would fit your desire list much better than Negril, especially if you want to take day trips to waterfalls & the like.

I have an update. I have selected Negril, ( Saving St Lucias for next Christmas ).

I really want to go to Couples swept away All In Inclusive,,,, However , I find it odd I could not not find anything as to whether or not it covered alcoholic beverages??? Anyone know?

All the Couples resorts are all inclusive, so yes alcohol is included. Here's a list of what is included in each of their resorts:

Negril is an excellent destination. Sorry I've never done an all-inclusive there to help with that part.
