Hi! I am new to travel and am looking for advice. We are traveling with a church mission group and will have two days at the end of our trip in San Juan. As a group we are going to "El Junque"- but I would like information on touring Old San Juan. Preferably a self guided walking tour as we will be watching every penny. Suggestions? Thank you!

Walking around in Old San Juan is a MUST! Just a wonderful walk. We used the walking tour guide/map from a guide book. I think it was Fodor's. Enjoy!

Yes, definitely do the walking tour. There are lots of guidebooks that will give you the basics for a walking tour. It's cheaper, AND you get to go at your own pace and skip things you're not interested in. Definitely do a tour of at least one of the forts--they're not expensive and in my opinion worth every penny! Have a great time exploring beautiful Old San Juan.
