On the beach staffed villa rental in the Caribbean
 

Our family of 7 (5 adults + 2 children) is looking for a fully staffed "on the beach" villa rental. Most of the villas that I have checked out online have a tiny beach. I am looking for a property that is on a long stretch of beach or can even consider a property that is part of a resort on the beach (something like Tortuga Bay in Punta Cana, but staffed). We are open to any Caribbean island, except Puerto Rico, Barbados, and T&C. Our budget is up to $2,000 per night for accommodations. Any suggestion is much appreciated. Thanks.

What type of "staff' do you need - just a housekeeper, housekeeper & butler, housekeeper, butler, & chef??? the larger the staff, the more expensive your rental will be.

How many bedrooms do you actually need? That will have large bearing on the rental rate for the villa.

Must it be a stand alone villa or will a large multi-bedroom condo suffice?

Hint - even if the you rent a "non-staffed" villa the rental agent/property manager for any villa should be able to hire the staff you require , if you are willing to pay the added expense.

I don't think $2000 nightly is realistic anywhere in Caribbean (including DR, the cheapest) on the beach fully staffed.

I've seen a couple starting at $28,000 on some islands with ocean views but not on a beach

PS what time of year? Why not the islands you named?

Thank you for your response! Plans are for early June. Staff including a cook/butler and housekeeper. Would prefer a stand alone villa. The islands named are ones we have visited. Thanks so much.

Check out beachfront villas on Mahoe Bay, Virgin Gorda. There are several 4 and 5 BR villas that rent for between $5,000 and $8,000 per week during June. Some have daily maid service and Property managers can arrange for a cook or chef which I'm sure you can get and still stay within your $2,000/night budget. Of course, you'll also have to add in the cost of food & drinks.

Light golden sand beach there is about 1/2 mile long with calm, gin clear waters and great walk-in snorkeling. Western exposure gives you views of neighboring islands and cays plus the added beauty of at the setting sun. Short drive to restaurants, shops and points of interest.

Also, check out beachfront villas on Plum Bay or Bay Rouge, St. Martin. Again, per week rentals will be in the $4,000 to $8,000 range but you should be able to hire housekeeper (if not already included) and a cook for the week and still stay within your budget.

Thank you so much RoamsAround. I am checking out Mahoe Bay, VG. The villa prices generally look within my range, and beach a decent length too!. Have to check for the price of a cook. How are the villas at Mango Bay? Would you recommend them?

Villas at Mahoe Bay are all upscale and very well maintained. Yes, highly recommend any of them. All are privately owned and furnished/decorated to the owner's individual taste. We've stayed in several and one is not necessarily better than another - they are just "different villas". Simply put, it doesn't get much better anywhere in the Caribbean.

Another vote for Mahoe Bay villas. VG is a beautiful quiet island with a lot to offer.

Thank you so much again. I also checked out Baie Rouge, St. Martin. Most reviews for the villas state that the beach outside the villas was very rocky. You would have to walk to get to a sandy, swimmable beach. Any idea?

Wimco is suggesting Baie Rouge as it is more luxurious than Mahoe Bay in his opinion. Thoughts?

I've traveled all over the Caribbean for 30+ years & stayed at villas on many different islands (Baie Rouge and Mahoe Bay included) and now also own a home in the Caribbean. Believe what I said in my earlier post - it doesn't get much better than Mahoe Bay anywhere in the Caribbean

For what it is worth, Baie Rouge is a longer stretch of beach but Mahoe Bay is much, much nicer.

Do yourself and your traveling companions a favor - stop looking - book a villa on Mahoe Bay - you won't have any regrets other than wondering why you procrastinated.
