Ocean Club West vs. The Sands

Can anyone give me feedback as to which resort would be better. We are a family of 2 adults and an 11 yr. old. Either resort, we'd probably stay in a 1 bedroom suite. Ocean Club West offers oceanview in their 1 bedrooms and the Sands does have oceanfront. (by the time we would go, the construction by OCW should be just about completed)

Last year (our 1st trip to Provo) we stayed at OCW and enjoyed it. This year we are going back and trying The Sands. We have heard very good things about The Sands and by all accounts I have seen their restaurant is better than OCW.
I do not think you could go wrong selecting either property. They are both on the most beautiful beach we've ever seen.
Enjoy!

The tie breaker for us was that you can walk to a few restaurants, and a couple of shops from OCW. We were with my 13yr old niece, and she liked having someplace to walk to "by herself" 13 going on 30 :) As stated above you can't go wrong w/either. Nice decision to have to make! Have fun.

We stayed at The Sands in November and loved it. Grace Bay Beach is the most beautiful beach we have been to....If we went back we would probably stay at The Ocean Club West just to change it up a bit....Both are beautiful...The both only have ocean views/front(not beachfront, theres a difference)....they are not directly on the beach but very very close.

Thanks so much for the replies. Both properties look wonderful. I have a feeling we'll probably end up with OCW because it's a better deal money wise with the 3 day meal package.

The only thing is my son who will be 12 then, loves to kayak, and the Sands offers it free of charge. Well we have plenty of time to make up our mind, though.

Just a couple of suggestions. Regarding food, there is a nice IGA on the main road. Whatever property you chose will have a fully equipped kitchen. You may want to consider stocking up on breakfast and lunch items and eating dinners only out - some savings there. Also, you may consider bringing those cheap 6' floats.
We did this and they were great for just lazing out in the beautiful ocean water.

TG, we always stock up on breakfast and lunch items, then go out for dinner. WE'll bring our own snorkel gear. I guess if we buy floats, then it's one more thing to pack. LOL

Thanks for the suggestion.
