Nonstop from Philly

What Caribbean/tropical destinations other than Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Nassau, and Caymans can you fly to non-stop from Philadelphia, PA? If you know of any others, what airlines, please? Thank you.

US Air to St. Kitts

Friends of mine are flying directly to Aruba from Philly this Sunday so I guess you can add Aruba to the list. Not sure which carrier it is though.

US Airways flies Philadelphia to Barbados directly, too.

Punta Cana, DR
Guanacaste, CR (High season)

Flew to St. Martin (SXM) from Philly -- had to come back thru Charlotte, tho. It was a great flight (USAir) & we got there at noon & were on the beach in Anguilla before 2 -- Stupendous!

Thanks for all the replies! Forgot Aruba -- we traveled there nonstop on USAir.

We are flying to Antigua from Philly non-stop on July 20th.

Also, USAir flies non-stop from PHL to Cancun and St. Thomas. ;)

fluffnfold Jun 30th, 2003 08:36 AM

I just investigated non-stop flights this morning while trying to plan my winter vacation. You can fly direct from PHL to the following:

Aruba, Antigua, Barbados, Freeport, Grand Cayman, Grenada, Nassau, St Bart's, San Juan, St Kitts, St Thomas, St Croix, St. Maarten, and St Lucia.

I forgot to say that the previous list of destinations are USAirways specific(I have free tickets, so that is the only airline I looked at).

fluffnfold -- Are you sure the places on your list are all nonstop flights? I couldn't find a single airline that flies nonstop from Philly to St. Lucia, and US Air has 2 stopovers.

Fluffnfold, not sure where you are getting your info. but a non-stop from Philly to St. Barths does not exist. The airport on St. Barths can only handle the small planes thus you have to take a puddle jump from SXM.

KeyGal Jul 5th, 2003 12:26 PM

I think fluffnfold confused "direct" with "nonstop."

fluffnfold Jul 30th, 2003 06:35 AM

Yes, I did mix up direct and non-stop.

You can go non-stop from Philly to St. Lucia (UVF not SLU), Barbados, Grenada, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, St. Croix, Punta Cana, Cancun, and Bermuda. Some of these non-stop routes may operate on weekends only, as in the case of St. Lucia.

The other islands I mentioned previously are connected by USAir's Go Caribbean network.

What is the difference between non-stop and direct?

joan Jul 30th, 2003 01:11 PM

Direct flights stop enroute but you don't have to change planes, or get off the plane. Non-stops only go from point A to point B - without stopping anywhere in between.

Check out Air Jamaica for flights to St. Lucia, they are not nonstop but they have quite frequent flights, as Air Jamaica is owned by the Sandals folks. I don't think they show up on Orbitz either.

USair will have non-stop from Philly to Turks and Caicos, and Cozumel on Saturdays in the winter. ((C))
