Nicest Caribbean Resort for us?

Looking to be pampered, sit on a beautiful beach with aqua waters, and be served frosty drinks and great food. Do not really care to leave hotel- just going for relaxation. What are the best the Caribbean has to offer?

Caneel Bay Resort at St. John might be a good option. Beaches are beautiful. There are many threads with Caneel info on this board.

From what I've been reading, Caneel Bay Resort sounds great. From the resorts I've been to & if you're not looking to leave the resort, Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana might be a good option and it is a great value for the $$. A few of their frozen drinks are served in coconuts. If you want to go the AI route, that's my suggestion.

You need to indicate a budget range.
If you simply want the best the Caribbean has to offer (including great food, light colored water etc) you should look at Cap Juluca in Anguilla, Parrot Cay Turks/Caicos, Ocean Club on Paradise Island, Four Seasons Exuma, Cotton House in Mustique for starters. The quality of food at the many heavily advertised all inclusives doesn't qualify as 'great' if you're comparing it to decent restaurants in major US cities.

I agree with the last two responses Ted Turner and the other one. I might add that La Source in Grenada and the Fairmont in Barbados are also nice.

Would any of the places Ted Turner recommended be good to take teens for winter break?

The Ocean Club is an ideal spot for adults with teens who want the best of both worlds. Adults can relax in luxury while teens can enjoy the water attractions at Atlantis a half mile away. Since ownership is joint, there are reciprocal privileges at the two places, which could not be more different from one another.

Check out Jumby Bay in Antigua! Just got back and it was amazing. I'll post a trip report shortly. Great beach, fantastic service and great food.
