My wife saw on another travel site----that TCI will now require a Temp. ( 90 day) drivers license when renting a car. Does anyone have details on this? Thank you

I would assume so, it sounds similar to Anguilla where you have to get a local temp lisence. There it went through the rental companies.

I just returned from Turks and Caicos..rented a car for the week and I did not have to have a temporary license...it was never mentioned.

Just got back from Turks/Caicos. Got to airport and they took everyone's conch shells. They even took the store bought shells. Not allowed to carry on or checked bags. Alot of ticked off people.

Conch shells: USDA does not allow importation of shells. Has requested TCI to ensure compliance.
Conch: No more conch to be exported to anywhere for a few months due to conservation efforts. Exact dates elude me at the moment.

As of now they have dropped the idea but they have other nutty ideas to replace it--.10 per minute on incoming international calls--things like that.
