Nevis - staying and getting around

Planning to go to the Four Seasons Nevis in October. Wondering about how easy it is to get around from there to eat/drink off the resort so we aren't completely broke when we return home??

There are a number of casual beach bar-type places, like Sunshine's and Lime, that are a short walk down the beach from the Four Seasons. I like to rent a car when staying on the island, so that greatly expands my range -- though I only go roaming for lunch and not dinner (I stay at Nisbet Plantation, which includes dinner in the room rate).

We stayed at The Four Seasons many years ago. We didn't find it easy to get around, but there were also no restaurants within walking distance from the resort.

WWK is mistaken - there are 4 restaurants/beach bars (Sunshine's, Lime, Double Deuce and Chevy's) just a few hundred yard south of the Four Season. You'll need transportation to get to other restaurants on the island.

Taxis, which are always available at the resort but can get expensive if you use them to get to some of the more distant places. Short trips will run you anywhere from $10US to $15US each way. Longer trip could be as much as $20US to $25US each way. Consider renting a car for all or part of your stay - depending on size of car you'll pay between $45 and $90 per day - most places will give you a discount if you rent for a week.

RoamsAround,

I clearly said in my post that this was several years ago. Probably at least fifteen. If there were restaurants near the Four Seasons, we sure didn't see them!

Love love love FS Nevis. We went last Nov/Dec. so jealous!
Use Joan in concierge to arrange restaurants, etc. she is wonderful!
She called me before we even left to set stuff up.
Yes, 4 restaurants walkable.
Montpelier Plantation was the farthest we went via taxi and it was $20/$25 one way.
We really enjoyed Mango at FS and actually ate their twice. Get a table by the water to hear waves crash and see St. Kitts lights.
Spa amazing and golf course is so beautiful even to walk it and see all the views.
Have fun!

One restaurant that should not be missed is Bananas. Our round trip taxi fare to the restaurant was $40.00 and dinner for two including 2 drinks each was about 90.00.

We had most of our meals at the resort however as others stated, Lime and Sunshines are a great alternative for cheaper eats. Five minute walk down Pinney's beach from the resort.

You can also take the bus to downtown Nevis for about $4 roundtrip for 2 people. Cafe de Arts is a neat little outdoor restaurant with great choices for lunch or dinner.
