Nevis in four days!
One last question. Drinking water anyone? Is this an island where it's best to buy bottled? Will post trip report in the New year . Thanks folks and Merry Christmas!!
|
I drank tap water on Nevis for a month without any problems. Bottled water is widely available and maybe it should be used initially and then gradually use the local/natural stuff. Nevis has a good public system and the island is a natural for capturing trade wind laden moisture and the rain forest/volcanic soil...a natural filter. Have a great time! Cheers, Richard.

Nevis has a reputation for having very good quality government supplied drinking water, however, like any place else many of the locals and visitors alike drink bottled water. It's usually a matter of personal choice.
Bottle water is available island wide. You will find it for sale at any of the three major food stores (Ram's, Best Buy and Super Saver) and at just about every small convenience and snack shop located around the island. You can also buy bottled water in bulk directly from Nevis Island Water (located in Charlestown not far from the Police Station) or from the Nelson Springs bottler (they are located on the main island road in the Nelson Springs area near the Hertz car rental building). Of course, you can always buy bottled water at most of the resorts and restaurants on the island. |
I do not drink the tap water on Nevis, only because I always drink bottled water, even when at home. Have a great trip!

Thanks everyone.
