Negril hotel within walking distace to action?

Hello.

Considering first trip to Negril, but would like to go somewhere I can walk places versus taking a taxi everywhere. I have a toddler and we love to stroll around places.. How are the cliffside funky places as far as walking distance to restaurants and shops?? We'll need a good pool, great decor, willing to spend $$

Thanks in advance

Well, it sounds like you would want to stay on the western portion of 7 mile beach as the shopping and strolling are very limited in the cliff areas. We have a brochure that we put together based on our 3 two week trips to Negril . Would be happy to email it out to you if you request at [email protected]
Dan and Ginny

Have you looked into Charela Inn or Cocoa LaPalm?

www.charela.com

Hello melody-

Definitely stay on the beach. If you are traveling with a toddler - the cliffs will be dangerous and you will find yourself chasing after the little one 24/7 so as not to toddle the 20-60 feet down to the rocks or ocean below. Also, to walk anywhere on the west end (cliffs) you have to walk on the small shoulder of the road - again, not a great idea with a toddler, as cars race by and many bind curves (tricky even as a grown up).

The beach, however, is one looooong stretch of beautiful, powdery sand (perfect for those little toes!!) and many places to stop and grab a drink, food, shop etc.

2 particularly kid-friendly beach places come to mind - Nirvana and Rondel Village. Google those places.

I LOVE the cliffs - but would never take a toddler (or even a young child) to stay up there. Besides, most places up there cater to adults / couples. That being said, do make at least one trip up there to grab some jerk chicken at 3 Dives and grab lunch or dinner at LTU Pub.

Have fun - I hope you love Negril as much as I do!!!

Just got back from Coco Lapalm and there were toddlers there - would suggest junior suite around the main pool - pool great - hardly anyone in the pool though because the beach is so wonderful. Be sure you get one of the original Coco Lapalm rooms, not the Coco Inn rooms that have been taken over. The beach there is perfect for kids because there is lots of shade all the way down to the beach so we saw kids napping in the shade while their parents sunbathed a foot away. I think Coco has the best beach in the area and you can walk on the beach in either direction.
