Need your Carribean expertise

Help!
We're trying to plan a vacation for Early May or possibly June.

We love the beaches of Virgin Gorda (Little Dix) and St John (Caneel) and Anguilla (Maillouhana). We'd love to try something new - but are a little at a loss.

Here's where it gets tricky: we're traveling with our two year-old son. For that reason, we'd really like a resort of some luxury - but don't want to pay $800 a night.

Any thoughts? We were thinking of the Bahamas but definitely DON'T want Atlantis and One and Only seems to have poor reviews of its basic rooms.

Have you thought about renting a villa? We rented a villa in Bermuda about that time of year and it was terrific with kids and not having to pay as much for a whole lot more room. Smaller inns and hotels also afford the same locale without the big prices.

3T: I totally forgot about the Gibney cottage opportunity offered by crowisland. You may have been to St. John but this is truly a unique opportunity! There isn't a more perfect beach for your 2 year old than Gibney Beach. Having your own cottage and this one in particular is an incredible luxury. I can say without reservation that this cottage beats any resort room. Imagine the convenience of having your own kitchen facilities and just walking out your door and onto the white sands of your own pristine beach. How's that for a new experience?!!

Sorry to get so carried away in the last post. Of course, it's my own opinion, but I think it is a great and unique place.
