Hi Tom: Go in the off-season if you want to save money. We’ve gone at this time and have never had a big problem with the weather. Typically, this period is from August to mid-December (if I remember correctly) and you can generally avoid hurricanes beginning at the end of October. We like to go in November / December to get away from cold winter months.

Anyway, we went to St. Lucia through a charter (has cheaper prices but you’re taking some chances) at the end of November last year. We got married at the Wyndham Morgan Bay which cost about $1,200 per person for one week. About 20 of our family and friends came with and everyone had a blast. The resort was definitely and good bang for your buck and I would recommend it. Francine, the wedding coordinator, was wonderful and very competent. You can spend as much or as little on your wedding as you want. We opted for hors’ deourves, cake, champagne, fresh flowers (for 9 people) and the steel band. This added about another $600 to our total bill but I can’t remember exactly. There are other options to pick from as well. We got married under a beautiful arch of tropical flowers. They also threw in a wonderful dinner off the resort (the Coal Pot Restaurant was exceptional), a sunset cruise on the Brig Unicorn (definitely a highlight—a must do), and something else but I can’t remember what. The pictures really don’t do this resort justice and you can get more information on the web. They will also send you a very detailed brochure package if you ask for one. The resort had beautiful landscaping, great food, great drinks, and great staff. The evening entertainment was pretty good too. The island is absolutely gorgeous with lots to do and see.

The only downfall was the beach—not the best—but definitely not enough to deter anyone from going. There are plenty of other beaches to go to if that’s what you want. All beaches on the island are public. Take a tour to the south to see the islands highlights.
