Need to make a choice

I am planning on going to St. Kitts or Nevis over the holiday and can't decide on the hotel or island!! Here are my choices: St. Kitts: Bird Rock Hotel, Timothy Beach Resort, Ocean Terrace Inn or Rawlins Plantation Inn. Nevis: Mount Nevis Hotel and Beach Club, Qualie Beach Club or Inn at Cades Bay. I'm having a hard time deciding on the hotel and island. We love the beach and plan on snorkeling and diving. Any suggestions?

I haven't stayed at any of your hotel choices, so I can't comment on them. However, it's very easy to ferry back and forth between St. Kitts and Nevis, so you shouldn't have a problem seeing both islands. Have you thought of splitting your time between the two?

St Kitts would be the better island to stay on, much more to do and see. You can take the ferry over to Nevis for the day if you wish. Looking at your list, Timothy Beach Resort is the only resort on the beach. It is a condominium hotel directly on the Caribbean beach. www.timothybeachresort.com Rawlins is way out on the north end of the island. No beach, pricey and you will need a car. OTI is nice but in town. Bird Rock is ok but more to the diver. Pros and cons here! It is located on the Basseterre side of the mountain. I have not seen it but they made a small beach of some sort. I can't comment on the Nevis hotels. Nevis is very small,(32 square miles)and quiet.

We always stay at Rawlins Plantation, rent a car, and go to the other end of the island for snorkeling, shoppping, etc.

It depends on what you want. Rawlins is gorgeous, wonderful food, and complete relaxation.

If you're looking for nightlife or lots of people to socialize with, I would stay in the Frigate Bay area, then go over to Nevis for the day.

I agree that the OTI is not the best place to stay. It's OK for a business traveller, but not so great for a vacation. I love Oualie Beach -- it's definitely a laid back place. We visited Mt. Nevis Hotel -- stunning view -- and the property looked nice but we didn't see inside the rooms.

We stayed at Nisbet Plantation on Nevis and had a wonderful time.

The Marriott on St. Kitts has some pretty good deals right now, if you don't mind staying in a large resort that is not completely up and running.

I also think the snorkeling is better on St. Kitts.

Just got back from the marriott in st. kitts, it is a beautiful property, all new and just about completely done, i feel it is the only place i would stay on st. kitts, the plantations are nice but out of the way, nevis is beautiful, all the hotels you mentioned are nice but mediocre. why dont you split your time between the 2 islands.
