Need subjective opinion on temps in GC
I have read all of the facts and figures, but what does it actually FEEL like in GC in early December? Does the water feel like a bathtub or is it chilly? Is it comfortable to lay out on the beach or does the air temp get cool by then?

Thank you!!!!

I would be interested in hearing the answer to this too. The guidebooks usually give a pretty wide range. How warm is the water really at that time of year?

The water has not had much of a chance to cool down from summer "bathtub" temps by early December. Even in late January and early February, the water is not "chilly." You will be very comfortable on the beach. The temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80's. Most of the prevailing breezes are out of the northeast during the winter months, so if you are on SMB, it will be nothing but balmy. We go for 4-6 weeks in Jan/Feb and even on the North Side where our place is, it beats being in Chicago!

It's interesting how Sue can essentially guarantee the temps will be in the mid to upper 80's every day, given that the highest temp EVER recorded in Georgetown, GC in January or February was 88, and the posted average daily high is 79-80 in Jan-Feb.

Average number of days at or over 85 is 2 in Jan and 2 in Feb.

Not exactly Chicago weather, but people always seem to overestimate the temps in the Caribbean during winter.

Brian,
The poster asked about the temps in early December, not late January/February.
