Need Honeymoon Advice

My fiance and I will be honeymooning in May or September of 2003. We are looking for an exotic tropical island paradise (isn't everybody!). We want beautiful powder white sand beaches and aquamarine turquoise waters, but also want to experience local culture, hiking through rainforests, volcanoes would be nice, waterfalls, etc. We would like to be fairly secluded. Please suggest some islands that we might like. I've heard that St. Lucia is great as well as Anguilla. Please help

St. Lucia has all of what you are looking for except the white sand beaches and turquoise waters.
Anguilla and Turks and Caicos have the beaches and water, but very little in the way of natural beauty.
For what you have said you want, I'd suggest Grenada or St. John.
Both have nice beaches and a lot of natural beauty.

St. John.

Many people have been married on this beautiful island combined with their honeymoon. It offes a lot. The beaches are the best we have seen. So many and the color of the water is spectacular. We are already booked to go back next year.

My hubby and I loved the town for shopping & the restaurants are great. A few places have great happy hours.

There are lots of hiking trails. No waterfalls that I'm aware of or volcanos but the beaches and it's colors more than make up for that. Over 30 to explore. A lot are very private especially early morning or after 4:00pm. Even during peak hours there were many little beaches that we had all to ourselves or very few people on them.

You can hire a boat and be dropped off at a private island with lunch included or take a 1/2 day or full day charter over to the BVI's for more snorkling and sighgtseeing. You can also rent a dinghy and explore on your own. That was a blast.

St. John will give you everything. We found it tropical, lush, stunning and had all the privacy we wanted.

We ended up renting a villa which was heavenly. It had all the amenities including a pool to watch the gorgeous nightly sunsets from.

No need to pack anything but your bathing suit and a few shorts and tops. Very casual and low key.

Happy hunting and congratulations.
Have to agree with the others on all counts EXCEPT

St. Lucia, St. John, and Anguilla are in the hurricane belt for September. Grenada would be your best choice if your honeymoon is in September.

So as to make sure you are not going to have bad weather, Grenada fits all of your aspects noted in your post, for September especially.

Hope this helps!

Sounds like Grenada. You may want to check out Spice Island Resort, Laluna, or perhaps even Le Sport. Best of luck!

Agree with Sherry, except in Grenada, you'll have LaSource, the 'sister' resort to LeSport, in St. Lucia. It's THE BEST!
