Charlotte Amalie Ferry
Since there seems to be a number of St. John travelers on this board I thought that I’d share this information. The ferry trips from Charlotte Amalie to Cruz Bay has been reduced from six to two trips per day.

Yes..we found out the hard way..went to get tickets for CA and were told "due to circumstances beyond their control..the CA ferry would not be running".Luckily we got there early enough to take the Red Hook ferry and still make our flight.

Trish: What do you mean no direct flights from Newark? When did that happen? That was always our fall-back plan. The Red Hook trek can be a hassle, but I feel the short ferry always makes up for it.

Tux - last I checked Continental from EWR was only connecting thru San Juan to STT. That was for this fall though. I think the direct flights resume in season... They'd better!
I did the taxi to Red Hook and nearly got carsick from the twisty roads. My preference is for CA ferry.
