Need help for my honeymoon
Hello:
I am getting married mid-November and will be taking my honeymoon towards the end of November. We have a $8,000.00 - $10,000.00 budget.
We want to be warm (80 degrees f or higher) and we want the water somewhat warm (79 - 84 degrees f) as well. We do not want to deal with crazy bugs when sleeping, so air conditioning would be huge. I have no problem being near the jungle as long as we have AC.
We also want a plunge pool (again, adhering to somewhat warm temperatures).
I am unsure about the all-inclusive. I have been told to buy the all inclusive if it includes beer and liquor because you will pay out the nose for drinks. I am curious to get other people's impressions.
Although I ma posting on the "Caribbean" board, I am open to all suggestions, including Mexico or further South. We don't want to do Costa Rica at this time because we know we will likely be going there with friends at some time in the future.
My fiance loves culinary arts and it would help if a.) the resort had more than 1 restaurant, or b.) the resort is near a city/town that is safe for Americans. Also, I presume that if we are on the beach, we may go fishing one day and would like the kitchen to clean/cook it for us.
Sorry for the long post. I know it seems like we are picky, but I just want to make sure it is an amazing experience.
Thanks!

you might enjoy the sandals resort on antigua. they have 10 places to eat & rooms with plunge pools.
http://www.sandals.com/main/antigua/an-home.cfm
on provo in turks & caicos most of the resorts have condo style units, but the island has an excellent selection of restaurants. very low key, very safe, gorgeous beach, not much shopping, good diving & snorkeling, good fishing - especially bone fishing. 2 ai's but then you'd miss all the great restaurants.
the only ai on grand cayman is the reef resort, which is small & nice, but it is located on the east end of the island away from seven mile beach & most of the restaurants. some good dining options there too. some good resorts on seven mile beach might include: ritz, westin, marriott, grand cayman beach suites.
yes cocktails & beer are very expensive in the islands so if you plan to drink a lot ai's are a good option.
your budget is generous but if you'll be traveling over thanksgiving you'll find prices much higher for that week. before or after turkey week is nicer anyway as there are fewer people around.
maya riviera coast is very nice. lots to do. you might look in the area around playa del carman.
in bvi - little dix bay is ai optional but there is not much on virgin gorda besides a couple other remote resorts. there are a couple resorts like saba rock or peter island in your budget but while these are wonderful places they are the only thing on their islands.
all the islands you listed are quite safe. to be blunt they are all places with healthy economies which means little to no crime. not saying to leave your camera on the seat of your rental convertible and walk away - common sense is still needed.

I would definitely recommend Saint Lucia. Its been rated the #1 Caribbean honeymoon destination. Its a very picturesque island with many attractions and activities. There are also a variety of properties. Here is a video link about St Lucia.

I would recommend staying in accommodation other than hotel if you truly want to experience the island. All inclusive is great but you can enjoy the island much better if you stay somewhere other than a hotel. There are many beautiful, comfortable and conveniently located properties with restaurants and entertainment nearby. With a friendly host or travel planner you cant go wrong.
You may find this site useful for finding great accommodation that's surprisingly affordable.

Best of luck with your trip.

With a budget of $1000 per day, the Ritz-Carlton in Grand Cayman would be a good choice. It has a excellent restaurant ( Blue by Eric Ripert) and the other ones at the hotel are pretty good also. A oceanfront room would be about $550 per night, so this would leave plenty of money to eat and drink. There are many other fine restaurants near the restaurant which are less expensive. The weather will be in the 80s and the water will be warm.
