Need advice: Radisson Cable Beach is over booked at spring break, will I get in or get moved?

I have a reservation but no money down yet at the Radisson Cable Beach, I had my travel agent tell me they over sold hotel, staff member told her when she was at hotel. They say my reservation is good, but they won't give me a written document guarenteeing my room. I'm scared we will be moved over ot Mariott which my travel agent said needs work she just saw it.What should I do ? Do youo think people will cancel last min? thanks

You will likely be moved to the Nassau Beach Hotel, which is where they usually send their overflow. I would check out my other options. Beware, even a guarantee in writing from your travel agent won't guarantee a room during spring break. Overbooking is a common occurence in the tourist industry.. everywhere.. airlines and hotels do it all the time..
It doesn't mean you won't get to your destination, or not have a place to stay.. it just means you may have a change in plans. This is NOT just for Nassau. It's throughout the industry.

Maybe if you had given a deposit to hold the room you would have had a better chance of having a secure reservation.

Even with a deposit, it still does not guarantee a room at that particular hotel. The airline, hotel and car industries always overbooks and they, unfortunetly, reserve the right to move you to another hotel but it must be comparable.

Some hotels routinely overbook rooms just like airlines overbook flights. It's not at all uncommon. Do you have an early flight? If you get there early, you should be OK.
