Nassau Transportation

I will be cruising into Nassau on Royal Carribean in September.

1) How long of a jitney ride is it to Stuart's cove from the dock?

2) Is it worth it to travel to the other side of the island to snorkel?
Thanks

Call Stuart's Cove toll freee number. They have their own private buses to transport people; could make arrangements to meet you at one of their pick-ups, at a hotel. They may come to the British Colonial Hotel, which is a 30 second walk from Prince George's Wharf, where you'll be docking. A jitney goes to Stuart's Cove, too, for a couple bucks. Takes less than half hour to get there by jitney. Sit on the right side, so you have nice ocean/beach views on the way there. Robert

Forgot to answer the rest of your questions. With Stuart's Cove, you visit two reefs, and may top it off with snorkeling above Caribbean Reef Sharks eating a sunken bucket by the Bahama Mama wreck. The reefs are nice and many reef fish are seen, except for grouper, which are fastly being depleted around the Bahama archipelago due to overfishing. Walk into the British Colonial and get the Tourist News, and Stuart's Cove has $10 discounts. You may also contact other dive ops in Nassau, who do snorkeling excursions usually in the afternoons. Try Bahama Divers; they pick up and deliver back. They have toll free number also, and a website. Robert
