Nassau safety

I will be going on a 3 day trip to the Bahamas. I keep reading stories stating that you must be very vigilant when you travel there. I heard that crime is up such as pickpockets and tourist robed at gunpoint. Im an experienced traveler. I will be going on my own. I've been to Cali, Colombia which is considered the most dangerous city in Colombia and never felt threatened there nor in Mexico. Can anyone provide info if they have felt unsafe in Nassau or anyone who knows the current safety condition there.

If you're an experienced traveler and use usual precautions, it shouldn't be any worse than where you've been

Don't be flashy, walk alone at night, use safe, the same you would do anywhere

I avoid stopovers in Nassau like the plague.

Most of The Out Islands are some of the greatest places on Earth.

Nassau isn't.

It's fine for landing and pitching up to a flashy resort, lying on the beach and not moving.

Through necessity over the past 5 years I've had to encounter the other side of Nassau. You can find yourself in depressing and dangerous situations, just don't let your brain fool you into thinking this is an island paradise.

Put simply I'd stay on your resort.
