Nassau 4 Day Trip Help
 

Hello,

I will be going the Bahamas (Nassau) on a 4 day vacation on Christmas. Can anyone share me their trip itinerary and/or give me some great suggestions?

If you are going to be there Boxing Day (day after Christmas) and/or New Year's Day, you MUST go to the Junkanoo parades/celebration downtown.

...would I need to rent a car? Is the place pretty walkable?

You really don't need a car, and depending on where you are staying downtown Nassau is very walkable, and there's nowhere to park, so don't bother with a car.

THe Jitneys come every few minutes all day long.

Junakanoo is a kind of LOUD, COLORFUL, LOUD, parade, did I mention LOUD? Kind of Mardi Gras flair, and the party goes all night long, until well after daybreak.

you don't need to rent a car but honestly, unless you like constant bustle, you will want to drive out to the West end just for a break. Nassau and Paradise Island are overrun and I found it to be just too busy for me. Sure it's great to be able to walk around but after a while I was wishing I had stayed somewhere quieter. I guess it's going to be the Out islands for me from now on.
