mosquitos in punta cana
 

i have heard that there are bad mosquitos in punta cana? is this trus of all resorts there? is there a certain time of the year that they are out?

I went twice this year to Punta Cana ,early May and then mid August ,(rainy season , when they're supposedly come out the most ! )didn't get one bite ! Didn't even SEE one mosquito or other little flying things either ? It could be because they've sprayed the hell out of the resort where I've stayed ? Been to Santo Domingo years ago during the summer and did got stung, a lot too...

Just got back from Punta Cana , did not see one mosquito. Took bug spray for the Saona Island tour but did not need it. Go enjoy yourself it is beautiful there.Karen

We stayed in Punta Cana last December at the Catalonia Bavaro. The mosquitos were horrible! I heard that since it is the last resort to the south there are more problems with the mosquitos because there is not much around. I have friends who stayed in the center and had no problems. This year we are staying at Secrets Excellence, the last resort to the north. I have heard that they have a mosquito problem also. This year I will be prepared.

Just returned from Punta Cana in Dec '02. Stayed at Iberostar Bavaro but went on excursions as well. Did not see any mosquitos or any biting bugs. It was very warm. Great time!

Just back from Punta Cana Dec. 23...Didn't notice any mosquitos, but did get a few sand flea bites on our legs. Stayed at the Barcelo complex...beautiful grounds and good service. Beach is beautiful and the weather was nice and warm...I would go back.
