Mopeds in Barbados?

Does Barbados offer mopeds as a source of transporation? I have been researching the different forms of transportation but don't say much about mopeds. If they have them and you think they are a good idea, how much would they approximately run?

Thanks!

Barbados is not an island conducive to Moped type travel. Your best bet is a regular car of some type that you can lock. They offer mini-mokes, but these are open to the elements and do not lock. Check out www.stoutescar.com
and see the types of vehicles available.

I have been informed by my friend who currently lives in Bbdos that mopeds are considered moving targets - you know - 50 points for the tourist on the moped...I am quite certain that this was tongue in cheek but she forbid me (people rarely forbid things) to be on one when I was there....

I agree with Stoutes...we used them during out 11 day stay in 2005 and impeccable service but cars are bloody expensive down there!!

I don't think your friend was being tongue in cheek! They really were moving targets when I lived there a few years ago! :))

cars are bloody expensive down there

Everything is expensive in Barbados!

Thank you JAGIRL!! I agree and was astounded to find strong opinions to oppose however, if you love an island the passion and determination to make it a good fit runs deep...but I felt that Bbdos was BLOODY EXPENSIVE!!
