Money, kids and in dire need of assistance

We are seeking a snorkelers paradise but don't want to pay $500 per night for it.
The Westin and Gallows are really costly.
I'm looking for those with experience with St John villas/homes with or without a pool, with a kitchen, laundry facilities?

Any suggestions? Other islands mtg the criteria for snorkeling you could suggest?

Thx. Budget for lodging would like to keep at 2500 for a week.

Looks like there's a lot of things on St. John that might fit your needs there.

Did you check out Maho Bay? It is quite nice and really fun for kids.

You may be able to swing Turks & Caicos, depending on what time of the year and how many are in your party.

You might try 2 sites where I've seen some very good possibilities. www.caribbeandays.com and www.carefreegetaways.com As for budget purposes, I would focus on getting a place with decent airconditioning and put money towards a rental car. Our house has great airconditioning but no pool or jacuzzi (working on it), and we have entertained 5 kids at a time with great success.

desertbound,

when are you going?

Last year we stayed at the Coral Gardens T&C when they were doing a 'buy one night - get one free'.

$200 a night for the 3 of us and very good snorkeling off the beach outside the resort.

Check out their website - when I looked, the main travel sites weren't showing the offer, we booked direct.
