money & phones

Are dollars accepted in Bermuda or is their a Bermudian currency. Also I assume cell phones don't work but how difficult or simple to dial an 800 number from Bermuda to the states?

Thanks.

Michael

U.S. dollars are accepted in Bermuda, though you will get your change in Bermuda currency. Not sure about cell phones, but Bermuda has 10 digit phone numbers same as the US and Canada so you should be able to dial an 800 number like you would at home.

Best way to ensure that your cell works is to bring a GSM phone, regular cells(analog) do work as well but any gsm will work.

It depends on the 800 number. Our company has an 800 number but we only allow incoming calls from U.S. and Canada and no other countries. You should check with the company you need to call to see if they accept incoming 800 from Bermuda.

I just returned from Bermuda and my cell phone worked without a problem. However, I could not use my office's 800 number from Bermuda.
