Mexico vs. Caribbean

This will be our first vacation as husband and wife. I've been to Mexico twice and my wife has been to Jamaica. We're arguing about where to go. Anyone have any preferences and reasons why they would choose one over the other.

Hi Doug!

My husband and I flip back and forth between Mexico and the Caribbean for the following reasons:

Mexico is much less expensive, there are ruins to investigate (if you enjoy that)
and the food is very varied! Remember to drink BOTTLED water (I don't care WHAT the resort tells you-I speak from experience!)

The Caribbean is wonderful, but finding "authentic" food is not easy. Mostly what we go for is the ocean. If you like to snorkel and want clearer, calmer water, GO CARIBBEAN! Or go Cozumel...that way you get both!
