Meridian Club question

Does the Meridian Club have floats--the rafts you lay on and float on in the sea?

Many of our favorite resorts have these, but I haven't seen any mention of it in Meridian Club's website or in any of their photos. I'm assuming the water is calm enough there to use floats, like it is at Curtain Bluff and Cap Juluca, among other resorts.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Interesting question. Yes, they actually have them but would not let us use them because of the danger of floating out to sea.

Yes, it makes no sense but that's what we were told in May of 2003 when we spent a week there.

We took cheapie blow it up yourself plastic rafts with us and ditched them for the way home. (You should have someone keep an eye out for you, it is amazingly easy to fall asleep on that wonderful water.)

Thanks, Allietoo, that's what I planned to do if they didn't offer the floats. We're leaving next week for seven nights there.

I had read a trip report from someone who stayed there in 2000, and the writer said she had her own inflatable raft. I was just hoping that five years later the Meridian Club would have the nice type of floats that many other places offer . . . but I will pack us a couple inflatables and we'll be all set.

Formal resort floats not offerred. Buy the way, the food is hit-or-miss. We went 3 times. Two times food was good to very good but not exceptional. The third time it was fair, at best. Friends were there in late Nov. 2004 and said food was only fair. The beach is "to die for". Snorkeling near resort just o'k. Need to go to Provo and out on day boat for very good snorkeling.

Over the years, this has been my favorite place in the world for absolute relaxation. Unfortunately, due to my work schedule, I can only go every other year. We have not been there under the new owners. I will be very interested in a report from you if you get a chance upon your return.

Whoops, I meant management, not owners.
