Meridian Club or Sands?
I am exhausted on researching our Spring vacation to T & C. We are a young couple (late twenties & early thirties) that will be traveling with another young couple, and we are looking for a kid-free resort. I can't decide on the Meridian Club or the Sands at Grace Bay. We are looking for something that offers nightly entertainment such as "island music," etc. Perhaps a bar that is away from the resort where people on vacation go to. Thanks in advance to anyone that can provide some good insight.

Meridian Club won't get you nightly music or a bar away from the resort that is easily accessable but it will give you sublime seculsion and privacy.

I also heard that Sands is crowded with children? Have you heard anything like that? We will be leaving right at the end of February next year, which I'm hoping is not Spring Break.

My husband and I went on our honeymoon to Provo and stayed at The Sands the last week of June, this year. At that time, it was definitely not overcrowded with children. I'd say in all (5 nights) we saw maybe 6 or 7 children. They were really no bother at all. If you have any other questions, please post here or email me directly.

Kelly - did you have a studio or a 1 bedroom? I want to make our own breakfast each morning. Is there a stove? Or just a small "storage" kitchen?
|
We stayed in an OceanFront Studio. It was plenty big, but the kitchen was small. We had a mini fridge, a sink, and a small microwave oven. The bedroom was separate from the living/dining/kitchen area, which was nice. We had a great balcony overlooking the beach. Any other questions, let me know.

Thanks Kelly - I know I've read somewhere where people have said they cooked in their kitchen. I don't know if that means with a stove or a microwave. What restaurants did you find that liked the most? And where did you go to shop or have drinks?

We saw a 1 bedroom ocean front suite (connected to our studio, but locked off) and it was huge. A full kitchen. Very nice! You could cook full meals.

We actually ate all of our meals at Hemmingways, right at The Sands. The food was excellent and reasonable priced. The service was also great. There also is a small convenience store on the property, where you could by snack, drinks, and the like.

There is not much shopping. We did not rent a car, so we did not explore the island. We just walked for miles, up and down the absolutely beautiful beach.

There is excellent snorkling about a 30 minute walk down the beach.
