May Getaway

Planning a week-long getaway in May. Looking for an affordable (around $1000 per person) trip. Priorities are relaxation and great snorkeling/diving. Not interested in Cancun, Punta Cana, Bahamas. Any suggestions?

Work another job, you will need more money than that, espically since you excluded all the cheapie vacation destinations.

Are you including airfare into that $1000.00 figure?

Anyway, it's not too late to write a letter to Santa.

Altho May is considered low season in the Caribbean, $1000/person is going to be hard, especially if you're including airfare....

I'd say probably Puerto Rico or Jamaica would definitely have specials with air&land packages. May is GREAT for these islands, cause it's not in hurricane season.

Hope this helps.

$1000 pp is tough! Suggest you try Club Med , one of the auction sites (skyauction.com, bid4vacations.com, etc.), or an agency which specializes in last minute travel (www.changes.com, www.moments-notice.com, www.lastminutetravel.com, www.11thhourvacations.com, etc.).
hi there!

i don't think it'll be that bad at all. you might not be able to stay in a 5 star hotel, but def a 3 star and maybe even 4.

i suggest puerto rico or florida. take a look at expedia.com. i found my 9 day package (air and 4.5 star hotel) for 1,300ish. if it's only for 7 days, i am pretty sure you'll find a place.

also, try a travel agent. they are not that bad and they can work with your budget and can give you more options than you might think.

good luck!
