Martinique: Which area to stay in?

Hello.

My GF and I are going to Martinique in March for a week.

We want to stay in walking distance to good beaches, snorkeling, kayaking and walking distance to a quaint town with fun bars/restaurants. Not too touristy but not too remote.

Any recommendations?

Steve

I don't know any area which has everything on your wishlist within walking distance. You'll need a rental car to visit all the various spots
Les Salines beach for swimming, bit isolated but totally worth the trip, closest town to Ste Anne
St Pierre for a "quaint" town, beaches in the north are dark sand, volcanic and very beautiful
Trois Illets for restaurants/bars within walking distance of hotels, has a beach, looks like there are 2 kayak operations there but most are on the east coast, as alot of water based activities are. Grand Case has alot of restaurants/bars withing walking distance of the beach.
Anse Noir/Les Anse d'Arlet for snorkelling
