Martinique - Hotel Le Meridien

My husband and I are going to Martinique in April. We're staying at Hotel Le Meridien. Has anyone stayed there or seen this resort. The travel agent said it was beautiful, but the books that I've read have not been the greatest. Is there a beach there? Any help would be appreciated.

Do yourself a favor - change your booking to stay at the Sofitel La Bakoua right next door - it is considerably nicer. The Meridien has a lovely pool and decent grounds, but it's rooms are on the boxy/drab side. The Bakoua has beautiful grounds, small but nicely done rooms, a great pool, and far more "personality" than the Meridien, as you will see when you get there.

Both hotels have man-made beaches that are quite decent, but of course don't compare to those you can find on the southern tip of Martinique.
