Marriotts- Which one?
 

My wife and I are looking to go away in late February or early March. We would like to use our points. Any recommendations? Thank you.

haven't gotten there yet but it's in my plans to use my points too...St Kitts. to me it's a "twofer"...Nevis is a short ferry ride so you could explore that too !!

We loved the Marriott in St. Kitts and the island. St. Kitts is very undeveloped (except for the Marriott!) - quiet beaches, beach bars, monkeys, rainforest, plantations, fields of sugar cane, the volcano,... We found both the locals and the people who traveled here for a visit extremely friendly.

I think we're headed to the St. Kitts Marriott this Fall - we're still debating between Grand Cayman and St. Kitts/Nevis.

We have used points to stay at Thanksgiving the last several years at - St. Thomas (we also went to St. John, which was lovely), Aruba and Puerto Rico (we also went to Vieques, which was fun).

I agree that the Curacao Marriott receives great reviews - it's on our list too. =)

Well, we have stayed at the Aruba Marriott and the Grand Cayman Marriott using points. Both hotels were very nice, with Aruba being the larger of the resorts. Both islands offered good dining. Both trips were fun and relaxing.

Aruba Marriott has gambling is larger and more crowded. The room we had was very nice. Nice white sandy beach, lots of water sports, easy island to get around.

Grand Cayman Marriott is a much smaller resort. It was recently refurbished. The island was friendlier (just a general observation, both islands were friendly, just GC seemed more so.)
Has water sports on property as well. White sandy beach, but had little pebbles, so bring water shoes. Had good snorkeling, bring a mask. Had a nice room and enjoyed our stay. Nightlife is quiet or small beach bars. Couples and families strolled the 7 mile beach at night.
Have heard good things about the Curacao Marriott and the St. Kitts Marriott.

I've been to Aruba, St. Kitts and Curacao Marriotts -- hands down Curacao Marriott is my favorite, the others are mega-resorts I found to be lacking in charm, Aruba Marriott very crowded, just not enough space for the hotel and two Marriott timeshares. St. Kitts an enjoyable island and less crowded, much larger beach and space per person ratio, Curacao much smaller, low-rise, great service, rooms closer to the water with better views, really liked the island, lots of interesting history and culture and great restaurants. Good luck finding a room using points in the next few months though unless you are really high level and get top priority, I am Silver Elite and book months in advance in high season.

You might want to check airfare to several of the islands you are interested in, unless you are using points. St. Kitts and Curacao are more expensive for our family to fly to than San Juan or St. Thomas.

The Curacao Marriott. Plus the island has so much to do. You can try deep sea fishing and there are all kinds of secluded bays surrounding the island. Lots of land activities as well. Climbing Mt Christofell, walking through the town - which is charming and historic, and great restaurants.

Check out the "travel packages" on the Marriott rewards site if you haven't already (click on: use points, browse more rewards, travel packages). They provide both air miles AND your accomodations for 7 nights (if you want to get away for that long). The best use of points.
Love the Marriott Curacao and the Marriott Morningstar on St. Thomas.
