I thought I read that this resort was going to be closed for a while for refurbishing. Does anyone know the status of the renovation? I stayed in the Reef right after it reopened and it was nice and would love to stay on the beach at Morningstar, especially if has just been done over. <BR> <BR>Any insights?

Did this renovation ever happen?

Stayed ay Frenchman's last New Year's - Morningstar renovation was complete - very pretty. Gret hotel and great location.

Ummm... sorry to disagree but was there in Feb. '01 and the renovation had not started yet- Cancelled resevations in July because of the state of the rooms. I'd also like to know the status... Anyone know?

As I am considering the Morning Star for a Feb/March vacation, I just found out via telco that the Morning Star, as always, is closed for the Summer, but is now open. No reno's etc., were involved.. Hope this helps-maybe see you there.

Thanks for the information...I had heard that the place was a bit tired, so I assumed it closed for reno...sounds like this is not the case...it is such a great location I may go ahead and book it anyway!

Actually they had announced that there were some plans for some updating during the slow season this Fall. Whether they did them or not, I have no idea.
