Mango Bay Resort rooms

Just wondering if I should spend the extra money to rent a 1 bedroom villa as opposed to just a studio. Has anyone stayed in a studio? Was there adequate privacy? Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

We stayed in a studio in November and found it to be fine as far as privacy goes.

In fact, the studio we had was upstairs, and it was very quiet.

I would not spend the extra money as the studio had a full size fridge, coffee maker, sink, etc.

Hi Diana,
We are looking to stay at The Mango Bay Resort in June sometime.
Can you give me some info about the resort as a whole? We would love to stay in a studio that is right on the beach if possible. Any pointers would greatly be appreciated? Things that are a must to see and do etc.
Thanks!

Belle,
I've topped my trip report from last fall for you.
Mango Bay is on a great beach, but the resort itself has seen better days.
They are busily selling all of the condos to private investors and the upkeep is lacking as a result.

Thank you for your reply. Any suggestions to other properties on Virgin Gorda? Your posts are excellent. Can you also suggest a place in Antigua?
Thanks!

Thanks!
I hear a lot of really nice things about Guavaberry Spring Bay on VG.
Did NOT like the looks of Nail Bay.

The last time I was in Antigua was probably close to 10 years ago. We stayed at Pineappple Beach Club - I think it is the Sonesta now(?) - and really enjoyed it.

The Pineapple hotel on Antigua is now owned by the Allegro resorts. I happen to adore the hotel next to it called Long Bay Hotel. It's small and intimate and it has a few cottages with full kitchens if you prefer self-catering options (Pineapple is all-inclusive). The beach there is great, the staff at Long Bay is warmest I've ever encountered, food is good, cottages are spacious, snorkeling is good from the beach, and it's a quiet property. www.longbayhotel.com

Thanks for your suggestions Diana.

I heard that Long Bay Hotel does not have a pool...we enjoy the beach a lot more but look forward to a pool at some point. Any input?
