Manapany in St. Barts
Anyone stayed at Manapany in St. Barts. I am looking into this as a destination for my Honeymoon in 1st week of May. We are going to stay at Cap Jaluca in Anquilla the first part and want to end our islands stay in St. Barts. Any information?

Hotel Manapany is on Anse de Cayes, not a beach you'll see listed as a favorite by anyone since it's very rocky and probably the Island's least desireable.
There are much better choices in our opinion for your honeymoon, especially in this price range. We'd opt for in order of price) Isle de France, Guanahani, Francois Plantation or Emerude du Plage. On SB 1/2 of the rooms are in private, romantic, Villas---many of them still posting their rates in the USD instead of Euros, which is a 20% or more discount. May is a great time on SB. Have a great honeymoon.

Try Wimco or St. Barth properties for villa rentals.
The only luxury hotel on a very nice beach is the Isle de France. (The Taiwana is also on the same beach.)
Go to www.sbhonline for the most information about everything St. Bart.

We rent from a private owner who has just 2 private Villas (both extremely well maintained) one on the hillside above Flamands Beach--our favorite, the other on the little more bustling area of St. Jean: their site: www.stbartsvilla.com. We agree w/Spainfan the SBH Online site will provide you lots of helpful information on SB that you won't find anywhere else.

Something else to consider is that, IMO, getting to the beach on St. Barts is half the fun. You should take the time to drive around the island a little, and check out the different beaches, so I wouldn't worry too much if the hotel isn't on a nice beach (AFAIK, most lodging in St. Barts isn't really "on" any beach).
