Magen Bay Villas at St.Thomas

We plan to visit St Thomas last week of Nov. Has anyone stayed at the Magen Bay Villas (Bay Point Resort)? If so, I'd appreciate some info. on the accomodation, service etc. I have not found anything on this accomodation in Fodors.

Also, how easy is it to commute to St.Johns? How much does the ferry charge and what is the frequency?

Go to www.usvi-on-line.com where you'll find out pretty much everything you need to know. The Travel Forum would be an excellent place to research the Magens Point resort. Ferries to St. John (no "s") run from either East End or waterfront every half hour. Happy researching!

The ferry runs hourly on the hour from St. Thomas and on the 1/2 hour from St. John (no S). :^)

The cost is $7. It'll probably cost you at least that to get a cab over to Red Hook. The ferry from downtown takes longer and costs more but I do not have specifics.

Never been to Magen's Bay Villas.

'tis not hard at all to commute to St. John from either Charlotte Amalie (45 minute ferry ride, $7 pp - about every two hours and stops around 5:30) or Red Hook (15 minute ferry @ $3 pp - hourly 'til midnite). Can't help with Magen's Point Resort but it is about a half mile from the Magen's Bay beach. I think it would be an advantage to rental a vehicle for your stay.
