Luxury Villa on St. John
 

I know there have been many variations on the same question....but I am going on my honeymoon next December (getting married next September) in St. John. Reading all your posts here makes me excited to have chosen St. John as our honeymoon destination but the choice in villas is overwhelming with new ones cropping up daily. My criteria are the same as most: great views, privacy, pool, close to Cruz Bay and the Northshore Beaches....but I would like something kind of luxurious, fancy, and new. I have looked at many that look great, too many to list here :) Where would you stay if it was your first time in St. John, first time on an island with your new spouse, and had a lodging budget of $2500/week in the offseason? Please help!

Check out Caneel Bay Resort...I know that it is pricey but not sure if it's above your budget or not...hopefully not!:)

My husband and I will be honeymooning in St John in May and we are renting the villa Southern Cross for 2 weeks. After searching hundreds of villas, we chose this one for its decor, beautiful pool area and privacy. It may be a bit pricey though- I think it's $2600/wk in the off season. But check it out!

Congrats on your honeymoon in May. Please do leave a villa review on Southern Cross as that villa was in our final 3 for our trip next May! It looks wonderful..

Congrats to you as well! Hubby and I have been eyeing Gibney Beach house for several years but couldn't rationalize speding the $$$. We had some sad times the past year and felt sorry for ourselves which is why we decided to go for it. We rented the beach house for 9 days next May. Although we have always enjoyed pool/hot tub/laundry we couldn't be more excited as Gibney is our favorite beach! Happy hunting~

Okay, two quick suggestions... look at these two websites and particular choices: vrbo.com and the private cottage at Cinnamon, no pool but everything else seems great, and then caribbeandays.com and "Caneeltrail Cottage" looks almost exactly what you're interested in. Good luck.
