see my similar query in gen. carib, postings ... every time I think I've figured it out, find new info on these boards that turns me off -- have/am considering Aruba, Antigua, T&C, Caymans, BWI, Barbados -- want good service, upscale w/out the snooties! Have lived & traveled all over Europe, so prefer a more local/European slant vs. totally Americanized.

go to Aruba. I have two teens (now 16 and 18) and have traveled extensively with them. they enjoyed the Bahamas, HATED Beaches Turks and Caicos, and are now so enthralled by Aruba that we bought a time share at the Marriot Ocean Club. We stayed at the Radisson on our last trip. It was great for teens, upscale enough without being snobby and with a good amount of visitors from countries other than the USA. Aruba is safe enough for the kids to take the bus to town for shopping and you can walk from hotel to hotel looking for entertainment at night. And, did I mention the superb restaurants? Take the kids to Aruba- you won't be sorry.
