Luxurious resort to take our teenagers for family vacation

We would like to plan a family vacation (2 adults and 2 teenagers)to the caribbean. Looking for a luxurious accomendations, but yet with things for the kids.... A place where teens would feel comfortable and welcome. Friends have suggested maybe renting a villa, but I think the kids would rather have all the beach/pool activites at their disposal. Any resort recommendations would be appreciated. (Beach and pool is a must.) Thank you.

Sandy Lane and Cap Juluca would work.

hello!
you did not disclose what island(s) you wanted to go to so i will give you a selection of choices what my family and i have enjoyed. i too have a teenager along with three other children! and the teen always brings along her crew of friends so we look for places with large suites or villas.

Jamica- The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall. Golf course, beach, and pool. ( try to get ritz carlton club suites)

USVI- The Ritz Carlton St. thomas. ( many presidents have stayed here)pool, health club, beach, tennis

The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan Hotel, Spa & Casino- spa, horse back riding, sking, golf, etc
i only gave three islands and they all are Ritzs ( can you tell we like them?) but post what island(s) you will visit and then i can help you more. we have been to many islands in the carib. i could practically compose a book!

Thanks Lisa for your reply. Ironic you mentioned these two resorts because they are ones we've had our eyes on for some time. We have always wanted to go to Cap Juluca, but considered it a romantic couples type resort. Have you been and did you see teenagers?
I understand Sandy Lane has just reopened after a major renovation. Have you stayed there? Thanks

Altho I do enjoy the Ritz on STT, I am curious which Presidents have stayed there. Aside from that the spa is part of the new building phase and the Club that is being constructed on BlueBeard's Beach and is not open yet. They are still using the spa services provided by their sister resort, Grande Beach!

Cap Juluca used to be couples but now they have renovated and opened it up to families. Sandy Lane is totally renovated also..they even have menus on their website and I gained weight just reading them! It's sometimes hard to find luxury and family friendly in the same resort. I honestly can't remember if there were kids or not maybe someone else will have a better memory than mine. Good luck in your quest!

Aruba is for sure a family island although they do not offer a Four Season or Ritz. Also guaranteed weather during the summer, no rain or hurricane worries. Check out http://www.visitaruba.com/attraction...on/family.html for some details.

Just a suggestion for luxury, a/i and activity for teens, how 'bout Jumby Bay off Antigua? They do have wonderful townhouses, each with their own plunge pool, that might work!

Rosewood's new luxe resort in PR, Martineau Bay, caters to families with teenagers:

And let's not leave out the fact that Martineau Bay is on the island of Vieques. You should have no problem finding current news stories regarding this island.
Four Seasons on Nevis might be worth a look.

Westin St. John. Just got back with our 2 teenagers. They would not have been happy without a great pool and all the activity that comes with it. The Westin(1st floor on the pool) and the island of St. John are PERFECT.

Hi Kim , I answered your question on the last minute Anguilla post, and I would not hesitate to go to Cap Juluca. They have beautiful rooms and bathrooms, plus the island has lots of beaches to explore. Cap Juluca has lots of watersports and a great sports team. What time of the year are you going? I will be glad to answer your questions.

Atlantis Royal Tower. Your children will LOVE it. Water slides, water activities. Eleven pools, and a great beach. Nice casino and gourmet restaurants.

Kim, wondering if you took your trip with teens yet, or if you've zero'd in on anything yet. We want to take our 13 and 15 year old daughters to the Caribbean during spring break, looking for something similar to what you appear to be looking for. Any other comments would be appreciated

How about Half Moon Resort in Jamaica.
It's a beautiful property with absolutly anything you could want. Tennis, Horseback riding, golf, shopping, bike riding and several nice restaurnts. And.......it's only 10 min yet a world away from the airport.
It's like a city unto itself. Just a suggestion!

we have been to ÒbeachesÒ on turks and caicos 4 times. our teens never want to go anywhere else. teen olympics, beach volleyball, etc. do not stay in the french villa section-thatÕs more for little ones. we went to fairmont southampton princess in bermuda (pretty luxurious) but our kids missed the action at beaches. we loved four seasons in nevis ... beaches service is not on par with that, but all inclusive with teens is nice---soda whenever they want (and snacks). 30-35% off now too! just plan to go off-site one or two nights to see a local restaurant

I have a 15 year old son who did not like beaches turks.
It was phony, and he called it "Disneyworld" many times.
He said he hates the food, the "Teen" section was all 9 year olds, and he stayed with us the whole time.
The beach in front of beaches is narrow, and it is better to eat and drive around the island to different beaches.
I would not take your teens to beaches Turks!!!
