Looking for tips on Barbados
My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon for this January and seek advice about Barbados. We are considering the Crane Beach Hotel and the Almond Beach Village. Has anyone stayed in either of these places, and is there anything to do at the Crane aside from looking at the beautiful view?

Just returned from Barbados in June. Crane Beach is fairly isolated and requires cab ride (fairly expensive) to go anywhere else. We stayed in Christ Church at the Bougenvillea (?) Resort which is new and were very pleased. Our room was by the pool, which was on the beach. It is a new hotel, so rooms were fresh and nice. Not far from the bus stop, and closer to restaurants and shopping.

I don't know how much this will help,I am going
to Almond Beach Club this weekend,so I already checked the village out.Supposedly it is family oriented.Very nice, but nonetheless.more or less for the family.Hope it helps, bob |
Caribbean Travel & Life just did a feature article on Barbados that might be helpful.

My trips to the island have involved staying in homes usually. I would suggest staying on the West Coast ( the "Gold Coast") only--altho I have stayed in ChristChurch and do like it there, it seems the west coast is more upscale. Barbados beaches are so pretty be sure to travel all around to see the differences (i.e. east coast is so dramatic). I agree Crane Beach is too isolated. Have you looked in to Glitter Bay? Sandy Lane should be visited just to say you've been there!
