Looking for suggestions

My husband and I have traveled alot through Cenral America (Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Hondoras, Cancun area). Looking for some new ideas for this years trip. We like carribean waters, beaches, snorkeling, and least touristy areas. Thinking about ABC islands, Puerto Rico, DR, Tulum area. Any suggestions from the Forum...Thanks!

I think Puerto Rico is a nice idea -- maybe add in Vieques and/or Culebra.

Depends where you go in the Dominican Republic. I liked Santo Domingo, Sosua and Puerta Plata well enough, but most people seem to go to Punta Cana (which is a mega-resort all-inclusive kind of spot).

Akumal and Tulum are supposed to be beautiful but I've never been on that side of Mexico myself.

Negril Jamaica is my favorite Caribbean place so far.

The least touristy area in your list will be Tulum. It's practically in the middle of nowhere with nothing around it. Playa del Carmen is about 45 minutes to an hour away. Second least touristy I would go with Bonaire.

Aruba will be the most touristy. Lots of hotels, restaurants, bars, and shopping especially on Palm Beach.

The DR has tons of huge AI resorts. Snorkeling there is not great.

Curacao is really a lovely place. The food alone is so worth a trip there. The historic district in Willemstad is great. The floating market is interesting. There are several good beaches around the island. The Hato Caves are also fairly interesting if you like that sort of thing. The aquarium has some good programs. We love the Marriott. They have a great pool and an awesome beach. You can look for some special deals on their website sometimes and/or on a site like hotels.com. Enjoy! You'll have a wonderful time.
