Little Dix or Peter Island???
We've narrowed and it down to these two. Can those who have been to both please give me a comparison so we can decide? This is for our honeymoon. THANKS!

IMO both are great places and are pretty comparable as far as amenities, quality of the beach, access to activities, food and staff. You won't be disappointed at either resort. The main difference is location.
PI is accessible only by boat which means you have to be content spending most of your time on the premises since can't easily go off property if the mood suits you. Of course the resort will gladly arrange for you to take day trips to neighboring islands or day sails for snorkeling. It is perfect for couples who want complete relaxation while being pampered in what is as close to your own private island as you can get without actually being the only ones at the resort. If, on the other hand, you are the type of people who like to venture away from the resort to explore the island and visit numerous other beaches on your own you might prefer LDB. You can drive or take a taxi to numerous beaches, hike to the top of Gorda Peak to take in the view, visit the shops in the village, etc. The choice is really yours. |
Good choices, I agree with Sunnyboy, both have advantages.
We just returned yesterday from the BVI and visited both locations last week. There was a fair amount of active construction on Peter Island on Sat. flanking the beach at both ends. The sound of noisy machinery was out of context with the wonderful setting. LD on the other hand was calm and tidy despite the flooding that resulted from several days of unusually heavy rains that closed one dining room and temp. covered the other with mud on Friday. But what a recovery! The staff there is at the top of their game. We've had great experiences at both locations. |
Safari, do you know when the construction (I assume on the new villas) at Peter Island is due to be complete?
Thanks, Linda |
The two renovated villas near the beachfront rooms should be almost completed. The two new villas high on the hill might be completed by the first of January, but most of the main construction should be finished soon and interior work started (meaning no one should notice any noise.)

Just returned from our honeymoon. Spent the first 5 days at Peter Island and then 3 at Little Dix. Even though there was some construction on PI and a few of the beaches were closed due to the recent storm, it was far better than Little Dix as far as amenities, food, beach and service.
Little Dix had many children scattering about, roosters waking you every morning, and the staff was ok. Granted, PI does get a little motonous as you see the same people and eat at the same restaurants, but I would combine it with something other than Little Dix and if you are going for a shorter period of time, PI wins easily. |
