Link to New Marriott

Heading there at the end of October. Worth the money to take a chance! Thought this link would help in showing the place. Hear alot of mixed reviews but will rent a Jeep and search the island.

Looks very nice. Appears sorta barren, though. Seems you'll have the whole resort to yourself.... :-)

Does anyone have a trip report from this Marriott that they would be willing to share? Or any thoughts on St. Kitts for that matter? This Marriott looks gorgeous and we've had great luck with using our Marriott reward points for vacations in the past. Thanks!

I've just returned from a week at the Marriott St. Kitts. After loving the Carribbean and visiting different islands in the past, this one turned out to be a bad joke. The hotel is huge-much too huge for this small island. The staff is untrained and flies abound. We used reward points and are sorry we wasted them. I was shocked that a ponography channel was not blocked. If you are bringing children BEWARE. There is a large water processing facility under construction in the front of the hotel so be prepared for noise all day long. They are also burying a pipe under the beach so there is large equipment working there as well. Prices are very high - the same with most resorts - but this one doesn't deliver. Dinners are over $100 a night (for 2) and the breakfast buffet is $30. for two. Because this is an open hotel you can hear doors slamming during the night too. The staff really is not trained and doen't seem to have the guests interests in mind. Children's day care is $25 a day with little more than babysitting done. The chaises at the pool are so close together they actually touch. And, if you want to go to the beach you may have to drag your own lounge since staffing is inconsistent. Also, there is no beverage service on the beach and you must go get your own drinks at the pool bar which has so many flies. I would certainly suggest going to Aruba instead!! Actually I would suggest going anyplace but this place. I realize my review is harsh but it, unfortunately, is truthful.

Check out the St. Kitts/Nevis newsgroup for more information on the Marriott.

There have been a lot of threads there discussing the beach, restaurants (both in and around the resort), golf course, and the other amenities.
